When we first joined UWeight Loss, we paid our starter fee and a maintenance fee. This starter fee included our protein powder, vitamins, detox pills, pedometer, journals and hundreds of recipes. We go and weight in 3 times a week or as much as we can. We finished our detox week last night, but I’ve been calling it my crap free week at home (since I need to really kick my addiction to sugar) Anyways, we went to go weight in last night and to pick up our vitamins for this week and … there’s a hitch! We were told that the vitamins were included in the 350$ starter kit. Since that’s a great deal of money we made sure and asked them if it was included. WELL, we go there today and they tell us that no they were only free for the first week and we have to pay an additional $50 each a week for them!! That’s 100$ a week! . I was in such an outrage that I was almost crying in the room with the lady. I asked her if we had to take the vitamins and if we could do it without them and she said we have to take them to be apart of the program.

So the moral of the story, never join a weight loss place. EVER! There are not there to really help you, they just want your money! So since our Starter fee of 350$ each is non-refundable, we can only get 700$ back if we want to quit. Kyle might stay with the program since he is overweight, but I am not. I didn’t really want to join in the first place, I just really wanted to support him and his decision. He feels terrible of course since I’ve been crying all night. But I guess you learn from your mistakes and move on. We’re still going to follow most of the recipes and work out more to make up for the vitamins I guess? This is all so confusing to me. I hate it.

I really hate it.

Sunday Updates :)

Hello again my lovely friends!

Sorry I didn’t post yesterday. I was working all day at Fabutan and boy did I get a work out. In the morning I went to go catch my 8:30 bus to be at work for 9 and as I was sitting there, I just happened to look at the other bus stop that was 20 feet away from me and there I saw my bus… drive right past me.. I was freaking out!! I had to be at work at 9 and since we always work alone, I was the one who had to open the salon. Anyways, I ended up calling Kyle in a mad rage, since he was the one who told me to sit at the wrong stop. He told me he would call his mom and see if we could get her car since our beater is in the shop.. well as this was all going on I decided I was going to walk (I am very stuborn) I was not going to wait, but walk the entire way. (It’s like a few and by the time they came and found me walking I was 3/4 the way there.. I am a very fast walked when I’m in a pissy mood. lol But it all worked out, I made it with a minute to spare. πŸ™‚ I’m a little crazy I know.

Me Before Dinner!

Major Temptation Straight Ahead!


I totally forgot about my plans for tonight. It’s Kyle’s best friends birthday and the lucky guy is turning 26 (?) I’m horrid, I know. I can never remember how old people are. I have so many friends that are all different ages so it’s like impossible to remember them all.. but holy crap.

We are all supposed to meet at Dylan O’Conner’s where the limo is to get us. Go to DW’s house and pick him and his wife up and then… go out for dinner. For those who have been following my blog lately or even some just finding me now (HELLO!!) I am following a diet from UWeight Loss. This is my first week and we are in detox mode. I have a strict schedule to follow, along with kyle.. and now we have a birthday dinner, and we’re not allowed alcohol! What is a girl to do!!

Would it be right to say I’m not hungry or don’t want to drink?

They are all quite heavy drinkers!! Besides I have to work tomorrow morning at 9 at Fabutan! I would never bail on someones birthday but I know I will be hungry and seeing every temptation known to man kinds.. Will I stick it out?? Will I keep eating the way I have.. or will I fail??

AAAHHHH?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I hate times like there where you have to sacrifice something your doing for the enjoyment of others. We will see… on a good note, I will FOR SURE be taking a “before” picture of myself tonight. One with my bathing suit for Leah at Oh She Glows since I entered in her Oh She Glows “Bikini Boot Camp”. Also, a picture of me so all you lovely people can really see what I look like..:)

Late Night Post!

Good Evening!

I just got off work at the tanning salon! I am absolutely exhausted. Kyle made me tandori chicken with sweet potatoes. I’ll post the recipe hopefully some time tomorrow… Also, me and Kyle have to be wearing pedometers to measure the amount we walk in an average day. So far it’s been around 7-8 thousand steps, but in my last 4 hour shift at Fabutan, I walked 7,500 alone!! I can’t imagine how many I will walk by tomorrow afternoon at my weight in!.

Well it has been a long night, and I cannot wait to sit down, light up some incense and read some of my book (Watchmen graphic novel..I’m a BIG nerd) and cuddle up in bed. I hope you all have a great evening and I will be talking with you tomorrow!

Granola Delight

4 oz Lowfat Plain Yogurt
15 gm Protein Powder (your favorite flavor)
1 tbsp Lowfat Granola with Raisons
3/4 tbsp Sliced Raw Almonds
1 tsp Flax Seeds (we used Hemp)

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a bowl and enjoy πŸ™‚

*Kyle was the one who ate this and he seemed to really anjoy it. He is usually a picky eater but this seemed to do the trick. I will do my own taste test next week when I am allowed to have a snack :)*

Turkey Feta Burgers

6 1/2 oz Lean Ground Turkey
1/2 tbsp Bread Crumbs
1/2 tbsp Chopped Onions
1/2 tbsp Egg Whites
1/4 clove Garlic
1 tsp Feta Cheese

Directions: In a large bowl, mix ground turkey, bread crumbs, onion, egg whites, feta cheese and garlic. Form a patty. Cook the burger in a medium skillet over medium heat, flipping approximately every 15 minutes until it’s cooked internally. Serve with your favorite fruit

Comment: I really liked the taste of a turkey burger vs a beef burger, the garlic and onion really added some zing to the flavor!!

*on a side note, I haven’t had sugar since Sunday!!! I have never went this long without junk food of some sort.. but I am strictly sticking to this diet. The apple was amazing!! I have never enjoyed an apple as much as I did today, absolutely scrumptious!*

Power Oatmeal & Nut Butter

1/3 cup Regular Plain Dry Oatmeal
2/3 cup Water
1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1 tbsp Flax Seed (we used Hemp seed)
1 tsp Almond Butter
30 gm Protein Powder

Directions: Combine water, cinnamon and oatmeal in a pot and cook until you get the texture you prefer or until all the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and add ground flax seeds and protein powder and mix well. Top with almond butter and serve

Comment: I really loved the flavor of all the cinnamon in the oatmeal, they almond butter really made it flavorful!! You could not notice the hemp seeds at all and it was quite delicious!!

Just An Update

Hello Everyone!

Sorry about my tardyness and not posting this morning, I was in meetings all day with my boss (total snooze-fest) Anywhoo.. This morning went really well, woke up really hungry!! I knew something must have been working in my tummy!.

So this morning we had a Power Oatmeal & Nut Butter, and I can tell you that it was delicious!! It was packed with cinnamon and my homemade almond butter to top it off!!

We actually just got back from the UWeight Loss Centre and good news, Kyle has dropped 3.5 pounds since Monday and I have lost a Pound!!

Only 11 more pounds to go until I reach my goal weight!!

Chicken Pesto Spinach Pizza

1 WW Wrap
2 tsp Pesto Sauce w/ basil
3 oz Organic Pasta Sauce
2 1/2 oz Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
1/4 cup Chopped Raw Spinach
1 1/2 oz Low Fat Mozzarella

Directions: Preheat oven to 375 F. Please the small ww wrap on a cookie sheet. Spread a thin layer of the basil pesto sauce on the wrap, top with tomato sauce and spread evenly. Chop up the cooked chicken breast into cubes and add it to the pizza. Sprinkle the chopped spinach and top with grated mozarella. Bake for about 7 minutes until cheese is warm and melted. Serve with tossed salad.
